About Chandana Mannedi

Hello Holistic Seekers! I am so so happy to see you here! Welcome to Uncompromised Living!

When we live with pain for long, it becomes our constant companion and we get used to co-existing with it. We restrict our movements to accommodate it, we weave our lives maneuvering our way in the web created by it. We know it’s not the perfect way but we don’t know the way out.

I’m here to give you the Good News. You know what, it doesn’t have to be that way. In fact, if you learn how to listen to your body, acknowledge what it’s going through and talk to it the way it wants to be talked to, you’ll get out of the Pain Zone smelling of roses. Yes, It’s true. That’s the science I will share with you in this book.

Once you learn these techniques from me, you will never have to stop yourself from going on that trek or take off on a solo vacay, because some part of your body is not in shape. It doesn’t matter at what stage of pain you’re in, there is a solution. What is important, is to start walking towards recovery. And you’ve done just that. Please accept my heartiest congratulations for taking that first step to reclaim control of your well-being – of mind and body as well as spirit. If you’re here, let me tell you, it’s because you’re now ready to let go of all that is stopping you from moving freely & healthily. I can’t put in words how happy I am for you.

Before we set out on your transformational journey, I would like to share my story with you, just so you know where I’m coming from and why I have made it my life’s mission to eradicate as much pain as I can in as many people as I can. My life is a living proof of triumph over pain. My tryst with pain began from the first moment of my birth. Even as my mother held me close and was reveling in the joy of my birth, she had to face the harsh reality of my diagnosis – I had congenital psoriasis!

Actually, she did not know how to react, because she had no clue how detrimental the condition could be. Not just her, even the medical professionals had very little information about the prognosis. Only as time passed and as I began experiencing the debilitating effects brought forth by the condition, did she realise what a cruel and painful disorder this is!

For those of you who have no idea what congenital psoriasis can mean; here’s a little glimpse:-

  1. Scaly and peeling skin all over the body beginning from the scalp and extending to the groin
  2. Painful and inflamed joints
  3. Hampered movements
  4. Inflammation across the body
  5. Low immunity

I don’t need to go into graphic details but, I am sure you can imagine how excruciatingly painful it was. And it meant more than the usual sleepless nights for both my mother and me. And as I reached adolescence, the hormonal changes exacerbated my symptoms and I was mortified and embarrassed by the psoriatic patches all over my body.

People can be unkind, and if they think a condition is infectious, they tend to keep their distance and this can lead to isolation and feeling of being socially boycotted. Even if people around me were not actually doing that, I would feel like they might and it used to kill me!

I had no sense of self-worth or self-confidence and would shy away from going out in public as much as possible. It was not just the physical suffering – I also had to go through emotional and psychological trauma as I was growing up.

My life was a living hell!

Fortunately, I’m blessed with a cheerful disposition and I bore my tribulations well. I also learnt to manage the symptoms with home remedies that my mom had become quiet an expert in finding for me. I fell in love with running and became an athlete with my dad’s guidance. He introduced me to idea that movement can give strength to the body – especially to MY ailing body. Under his tutelage, I excelled in sports. Achievement and excellence in sports helped me to bear the other side of my life – the pain, suffering and humiliation. The physical activity gave me a sense of purpose and made me aware that I am capable of achieving success in my life. It also helped me control the symptoms of the disease.

But trouble lay ahead; I had to give up my journey as an athlete, actually abandon it, because my body strength was no match to my enthusiasm. My dad and I felt like we could not jeopardise my health.

This is a classic presentation of psoriasis, when just as you’re beginning to think it has disappeared, out of nowhere it re-emerges with a vengeance. My parents and I tried all systems of medicine - allopathic , homeopathic, Ayurvedic and everything else there was but to no avail.

This frustrating, non-responsive stage of my condition continued and after fighting the disease for 20 years, I decided not to seek any more external help; and began the journey of looking and seeking help from within. I started looking within myself. That’s when my pursuit for perfect health began.

Like they say, “Ask and it shall be given,” I asked the universe to show me the path to become holistically healthy and, sure enough, I found it. I trained with the best in Physiotherapy, Pilates and Cranio-Sacral Therapy. I also worked with foods that can work as medicine by increasing immunity, reducing inflammation and speeding up healing. All these gave me a sense of freedom and I began to feel, once again, the joy of movement as opposed to fear of movement.

I began working on myself and achieved near perfect fitness in body, mind and emotions. This gave me a better understanding of the body, pain and movement. So I came up with an advanced form of therapy, which I call Movement Therapy that is based on a scientific approach to restore the natural movement and rhythm to the internal & external body that leads to good health. (link to Mind Body Alignment, Movement Therapy). Now, I am on a mission to reach out to as many people as possible to help them lead a more fulfilled life.

I want everybody, who may be leading a compromised life because of pain, to be free; to move and to feel the joy of movement through your body and the euphoria of being in alignment with the universe.

Come join me, as I take you on a journey. I will introduce you to your beautiful body and the fascinating mind that is governed by a multitude of emotions.

The results will amaze you, just like they did with me. So, let’s get started, shall we?

Say Yes to Pain Free Life!

"Don't be fearful of movement, be mindful of movement." — Mannedi Chandana

One must have a movement flow that helps re-integrate our inborn reflexes with restorative movement. Fear can freeze this flow and in turn lead to compensated movement patterns. Being aware, being calm can invite the body to take its flow. Avoid fear of movement and attain freedom of movement.
